People in charge of investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Commerce said in Hong Kong on 29th that China approved to set 525378 foreign invested enterprises totally up to the end of May this year, actual utilization of foreign investment amounted to US$584.4 billion.
In addition, over 400 among 500 big trans-national corporations in the world have investment in China, and over 30 enterprises set up regional headquarters, and they set up over 600 research and development centers.
In 2004, fixed asset investment by foreign invested enterprises accounted for 12% of total, industrial added value accounted for 28% of the total, and export accounted for 57% of the total.
